I have a slightly embarrassing admission. I know you won't judge me too harshly because, well, you've embraced all of the other looney stuff I've shared with you thus far (by the way, thanks for that!). I used to love Rainbow Brite. In a big way. Watched the show, had the doll, had a couple of sprites, pretended I had blonde hair and rode my pony over rainbows and wished I sported a sparkly star on my cheek. I know, I know. It just seems so wrong, doesn't it? But there it is.
So I guess it's no wonder Ella is currently completely and hopelessly in love with rainbows. I dig it. Rainbow knee socks, I'm coming for you! I know she'll have much worse fascinations later in life, so this is one I don't mind indulging. With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, we could really make this fun.
I'm loving all of the rainbow crafts and recipes I'm finding so far. Making AND tasting rainbows...cool!

No link for this one, but it's pretty straight forward. Simply make your usual batter and then separate into seven dishes. Use food coloring to dye the batter and cook as usual. Then serve one of each in a tall stack.
I would use my old friend, construction paper, and make this work. No gold cord needed, just use whatever you have on hand (twine, yarn, string, pipe cleaner) for hanging.
Love this! And so would Ella! It combines 3 of her favorite things: painting, rainbows and gardening. We would fill it with candy first--of course-- but then plant flowers or maybe even shamrocks!
Too easy and cute to pass up. And it just so happens that second to construction paper is my pipe cleaner stash. I only have about a million pipe cleaners in our craft cabinet (seriously, why do the packs come in 5000 ct?!?). I'm happy to use some of them, especially for something so adorable! Couldn't you see Rainbow Brite wearing this?
And just for giggles (and nostalgia's sake):
