I have 5 current picks for toddler-age story time that I thought I would share with you. A few are on theme for Halloween, but a couple are just all around, great, this-should-be-in-your-library books. If you're anything like us, story time is sacred--and we love it, but it gets tough reading the SAME stories over and over, so we try to mix it up once in a while. I love it when I get good recommendations, so I thought you might appreciate a thumbs up on some tried and true titles. If you have a title you'd like to recommend, leave a comment and let me know! The Spooky Smells of Halloween is a fun read, and allows your eager readers to be involved with story time while incorporating all of the yummy smells that go along with this time of year. Little Goblins Ten gives your little one an opportunity to chant along in a sing-song rhythm, work with counting, and have a little Halloween fun. This has become a favorite in our house! The Witches' Ball has been a part of our library since Ella was one, and although it's not new, it is a treasured book in our house. It also lends itself to that sing-songy rhythm that seems to stick with you long after story time has ended. This book appears bedside not just in the fall, but is a requested title in our house throughout the year...and to be honest, it's one of my favs, too. I can even recite it by heart. Rosie Revere, Engineer is such an inspiring story, encouraging your little one to follow their heart, accomplish great things, learn from mistakes, accept failures, but to PUSH ON! Love this story...and I'm not gonna lie to you, it made me cry at one point just a bit (don't worry, it was totally a good cry). I am Amelia Earhart is also a new fav. Ella loves this book, and I love that she loves it. Serving up splendid spoonfuls of biographical info in an interesting retelling, starting with Amelia as a little girl, the book includes illustrations that make the story feel more toddler appropriate and less history class. The tag line in this book, and one that makes me want to jump up and DO SOMETHING ALREADY with focused determination, is "I know no
bounds". Need I say more?

These are great :-) We have read a couple, but will have to look for the others. Here is a great website to find age appropriate books for kids of all ages. http://www.commonsensemedia.org/book-reviews You simply click on the age and various topics and it will generate a list with reviews.
